We integrate the chiller unit, water tank, and water pumps onto a single base directly at our factory, thereby eliminating your on-site installation difficulties and significantly reducing both installation time and costs.Furthermore, this chiller has a small footprint.
What is a Skid-Mounted Water Cooled Screw Chiller ?
A skid-mounted water cooled screw chiller is a pre-assembled, compact, and portable cooling system where all components—water cooled screw chiller, pumps, tanks, and controls—are mounted on a single steel frame or base (skid). It acts as a "plug-and-play" unit, allowing for rapid installation, easy transport, and reduced on-site construction in industrial applications.

The main components of a skid-mounted screw chiller unit include the compressor, condenser, evaporator, expansion valve, oil separator, electrical control system, and auxiliary components. These units integrate core components onto a portable steel base (skid-mounted platform), facilitating easy transportation and rapid installation; they are widely utilized in industrial refrigeration and central air conditioning systems.
Compressor: Serving as the "heart" of the unit, it employs a screw-type design (either single-screw or twin-screw) to compress the refrigerant through rotor rotation, thereby providing the motive power for the refrigeration cycle. Primary compressor brands include Hanbell, Bitzer, and Refcomp.
Condenser: This component cools and liquefies the high-temperature, high-pressure refrigerant gas. Water-cooled models require an accompanying cooling tower, while air-cooled models rely on fans to dissipate heat. Water-cooled screw chillers typically utilize shell-and-tube condensers.
Evaporator: Here, the low-temperature, low-pressure liquid refrigerant absorbs heat and evaporates, thereby cooling the external chilled water to achieve the desired refrigeration effect. We utilize dry-type shell-and-tube evaporators; materials can be customized to suit specific operating conditions.
Expansion Valve:This device performs throttling and pressure reduction functions, controlling the flow rate of refrigerant entering the evaporator. Common types include thermal expansion valves and electronic expansion valves. OUMALCHILLER employs high-quality expansion valves from Danfoss or Emerson.
Electrical Control System: Comprising a PLC controller, touch screen interface, sensors, and other components, this system enables automated operation, remote monitoring, and comprehensive safety protection. We utilize Siemens PLCs as our standard configuration, with other brands available as optional alternatives.
Auxiliary Components: These include filter dryers, economizers, sight glasses, solenoid valves, water pumps, insulated piping, and various other valves, all of which serve to enhance the system's overall efficiency and reliability.
Buffer Water Tank: Features a double-layer insulated stainless steel tank. Both cylindrical and rectangular tank configurations are available, with customizable capacities; special materials can also be specified for custom orders.
Water Pumps: Includes the chilled water pump; a backup pump can be added if required. The pump head (pressure/lift) required to circulate water from the tank to the user's facility can be customized according to specific project needs.
